The case for a stereo with no streaming chip
Separates, turntables and passive speakers that will outlast every streaming service.
A streaming chip is the part of a stereo that ages fastest. Services change, apps get dropped, and the box that depended on them goes quiet. An amplifier with plain inputs doesn’t care what happens to any of them.
Keep the parts that last
Speakers, amplifiers and turntables can outlive several generations of streaming. Keep them separate and simple, and you only ever replace the small, cheap part that changes.
You can still stream
Plug any streamer into a line input. When it stops getting updates, swap a small box, not the amplifier.
